Fruit trees usually need to be fertilised with pollen from another variety of the same type in order to produce fruit (a few varieties are self fertile).  In simple terms, this means than an apple tree usually needs to be fertilised by another apple tree in order to produce apples.  For fertilisation to occur you need two trees that flower at roughly the same time - either in your own garden or in a nearby garden. Picture: Martyn Gill

Varieties within each of the following groups or within immediately adjacent groups will pollinate each other.  Triploid varieties (donated with T) are not good pollinators and require 2 other varieties to ensure pollination.

The following list includes varieties that we do not stock - but which you may already have in your garden.   ALWAYS TELEPHONE BEFORE YOU TRAVEL TO CHECK AVAILABILITY!
